The Darkness

Everything you know in your entire world, can be changed in less than a second.
Your whole world can disappear quicker than the subconscious reflex reaction of being burned,
And within that moment every drop of your blood is sucked from your head
through your feet and vanquished into another form of energy. You're drained.
Your heart stops its rhythmic beating for what seems like an eternity
then finally jump starts, pumping at a speed equivalent to a sprinter's racing pulse.

Your body and skin suddenly defrost from its icy-cold state of blood drainage
into flushed, red-hot sweats, as fear begins it's trance inducing dance in your mind.
Acid and bile stir swiftly in your stomach, chunks bloom and rise in your gullet
And hot fresh saliva lubricates the lining of your mouth, whilst
In contrast to your fading vision and the sensation of sinking into your self
The brain rushes ten thousand horrific scenarios across your minds eye.

To feel, in that tiny second that may change your life forever, that maybe
The one you love unconditionally may be harmed, dying, willing you to rescue them or worse
Is the single most un-empowering yet powerful, out-of-control yet controlling,
Super-slow-motion yet over-in-an-instant experience, a person can feel
In their entire Human and Spiritual existence, That moment when the light inside you
Is sucked out and we are left alone in the darkness, within the vacuum of our own inner space.

Death Valley

Envision in your head...
White and dark chocolate melted-down, swirled together and poured delicately over the mountainous-shaped molds of rock that were carved by a hot, southernly-born wind blowing across the plains, sweeping up from the ground, engraving the elevated crust over the ages by what seems to be as easy as the wind gradually blowing sand into giant dunes.
Time then adds rich powdered and turquoise blues to the melting pot, dashed with Paprika, Honeycomb and espresso creme, all layered in the wind-carved, diagonally-rising direction as if preparing the layers of a spongecake during an earthquake, and its visual appeal is as enticing as a cake alike; Just mother nature throwing her ingredients together in an unmeasured trial and error fashion. And in her typically and not unusual style, she succeeds once again in her visually mouthwatering experiment, adding by pure chance the perfect amount of raw materials to create the breathtakingly, stunning, marbled mountains of Death Valley.

Legend's Land

A land so pure, powerful and rich with striking beauty
So hypnotizing are her emerald fields it’s almost hard to believe
With colours so vibrant and deep, an artist simply can not recreate,
Her scenery will tattoo within your memory, and is never destined to leave.

A land of giants, eternal youth and ancient legend
Scorned by hatred, bigots, famine, oppression.
Mythical tales recited to the old in pubs, and the childer as they sleep,
Eye-witnessed memories forever re-lived with grief, pain, anger, depression.

A land with folk so warm and welcoming, even in their times of need,
Legendary hospitality and banter that could melt thick frost in mid-December.
People so strong they dance the céilì on their 90th annum
Whilst recalling all those victims buried young, horror we wish not to remember.

A land with such beauty she provoked war for over 8 hundred years
Man-made rivalry taint her life force, we wonder will it ever cease?
Blinded by ownership, faith, flags, hate; so blissfully ignorant they can not see,
That the true keepers of this land are not man, but beauty, purity, nature, peace.

Angels In Distres S.

Molten lead seeps into the freshly carved wounds,
Etching its way into the red flesh of my heart
4 letters hack, strip, slice deep and shallow
Evoking pain far within and superficial alike,
My soul cries.

An angel in training, put on Earth for his final test
His being so gentle, a model to all man
Tranquil is his touch, love is his eyes
A disciple riding the storm that is life,
You brave soul.

You chose your mission well; you chose it hard
You must have so much faith in your own being
To willingly pick a path so challenging for this life
And choose me as your companion, your friend, your rock,
I can not refuse.

To walk away is not an option, your hand won’t be rejected
I’ll never turn away from an angel in need of love.
It’s an honor to be chosen by an angel;
And so I will be the shining light of your halo,
I’ll help guide you home.
